Dealers

We're hoping for a vibrant, active dealers' room at Odyssey, with a wide variety of things for sale. To this end, we've encouraged a mixture of dealers selling books, comics, games, jewellery, fantasy clothing, media etc.

The dealers room is currently full, but we can put you on a waiting list to see if there are any cancellations. If you want a dealer's table, please contact dealers@odyssey2010.org

We're using the same room for dealers as Orbital 2008 did: The County Suite. It's a spacious room, comparable to those in large blackpool hotels used for conferences.

There will be two types of tables: full-price tables in the County Suite and free fan tables in the suite foyer. (Fan organisations are welcome in the County Suite, but they must pay the full rate for tables there.)

To book a table in the dealers's room, you must buy at least 1 ordinary weekend membership -- then you'll be able book 6-foot tables (or table equivalent spaces) at £35 each. If you are bringing additional staff, they must either have full memberships (to be able to take part in other activities at Odyssey), or have ‘Dealer and Dance' memberships (at £5 each), which allows access to the dealers' room and social space during the day and in the evening, the Disco and Ceilidh. D+D memberships do not give access to programme items. D+D memberships for a stand should be booked by the person booking the tables.

The maximum number of tables is currently three per dealer; this may be reduced/increased with time.

The County Suite foyer is not secure overnight and we recommend that nothing valuable be left on these tables. These are limited to one table per organisation.

Tables are booked as part of the normal online membership booking form, but please note that dealer bookings are only accepted in pounds, not euros.

Groats – All dealers are requested to accept groats (tokens with a value of £1 given to people who help the convention), which can be traded back for real money from the Dealers' Room organisers or our Treasurer, exchanged for food/drink in parts of the hotel, or even used to purchase goods from other dealers.

We'd like to stagger arrival times to reduce pressure on the loading bay. Dealers are encouraged to notify us of their intended time of arrival via Richard@wavwebs.com Setup is hopefully from 2pm to 6pm on Thursday and definitely from 8am to 2pm Friday (depending on whether the hotel have the County Suite free on Thursday -- which we won't know until much closer to the actual convention). Dealers can unload either at the loading bay or from the car park. A section of the car park nearest the dealers' room will be reserved on Thursday and Friday for loading and unloading. The loading bay will not be accessible after 12noon on Friday or before 3pm on Monday.

The dealers' room will be open from 2pm to 6pm on Friday, from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday and from 10am to 3pm on Monday.
